There isn’t such a thing as a straightforward wonder.
A shy research surgeon, Dr. Malcolm Sayer, uses an experimental medication to “”awaken”” the catatonic patients of a rare illness. Leonard is the first individual to receive the divisive procedure. As the exuberant patient shows life’s easy yet unutterably sweet pleasures to the introverted doctor, his awakening, packed with awe and excitement, proves a rebirth for Sayer as well.
