On July 2, a massive alien mothership crosses Earth’s atmosphere and launches a swarm of saucer-shaped ‘destroyer’ spacecraft that rapidly destroy major cities around the globe. The US launches a concerted counter-offensive on July 3 that fails. On July 4, a plot is conceived to obtain entry to the interior of the alien mothership in orbit so that a nuclear weapon can be planted.
