Lane Meyer is enamored of his girlfriend Beth, and is heartbroken when she falls for Roy, the current ski team captain. Lane discovers a new love in French exchange student Monique Junot after many unsuccessful suicidal attempts, narrow escapes from the obsessive paper guy, and almost intolerable dinners at home with his insane relatives. In the meantime, he must defeat Roy on the slopes in order to reclaim his reputation.
