Jesse Aarons spent the summer training to become the school’s top athlete, but when beginner Leslie Burke outruns him and everybody else, he’s furious. Despite their disparities, such as the fact that she is wealthy and he is poor, and that she is a city girl and he is a farm guy, the two become quick friends. They reign as king and queen over Terabithia, a world with goblins, orcs, ogres, and giants.
