At the start of the Mexican Revolution in 1913, corrupt bandit Juan Miranda and idealist John H. Mallory, an Irish Republican Army explosives specialist on the run from the British, join a group of rebels planning to attack a national bank. Miranda becomes a resistance icon against his will after it is discovered that the government has been using the bank as a hideaway for unlawfully imprisoned political prisoners, who are rescued by the explosion.
