Hair, a 1979 romantic war comedy-drama film based on the 1968 Broadway musical “”Hair: An American Tribal Love-Rock Musical,”” tells the story of Claude, a Vietnam War draftee who encounters and befriends a tribe of long-haired hippies on his way to the army induction center. Claude leaves the family ranch in Oklahoma after he receives his draft notice and travels to New York. Before reporting to boot camp, he lands in New York and is quickly indoctrinated into the youth subculture.
