Soren, a teenage barn owl, is abducted by owls from St. Aggie’s, an ostensibly orphanage where owlets are brainwashed to become warriors. He and his new friends flee to the island of Ga’Hoole to help the island’s brave, knowledgeable owls battle the army being raised by St. Aggie’s wicked rulers. The first three books in the series serve as the basis for the film.
