As Herb Brooks, a college assistant, is recruited to coach the 1980 United States men’s Olympic hockey squad, he takes a distinctive and brash approach to the rink. Brooks unites his group against a mutual foe: the heavily-favored Soviet side, after recruiting a team of hot-headed college all-stars, who are defeated in an early match.
