What happens as schools transform into battlegrounds where both sides suffer casualties?

Trevor Garfield, an instructor in New York, relocates to Los Angeles after escaping a stabbing by a classmate. He returns to teaching as a replacement instructor there. Garfield gradually becomes enraged by the educational environment, in which vicious bullying rule the schools and the government is fearful of litigation.
