Old Frank Curmudgeonly stays by himself. His schedule includes regular trips to his local library, where the librarian has a twinkle in his eye. His grand children are worried for the well-being of their parent and buy him a robot caretaker. Initially opposed to the notion, Frank quickly appreciates the advantages of robotic aid – including healthy food and a tidy home – and finally starts treating his robot as a genuine friend. Frank’s love for his former, illegitimate career is revived, for better or worse, with the help of his robot.
