Following the zapping of a robot called Number 5 by a lightning bolt, the lovable computer begins to believe he is human and flees the facility. Newton, his designer, is hot on his tail, hoping to reach Number 5 before the military. Meanwhile, a brave animal enthusiast mistook the robot for an alien and welcomed him into her home, telling him about life on Earth.
