The Exorcist III is set fifteen years after the original film and follows Lieutenant William F. Kinderman as he investigates a bizarre string of killings in Georgetown that all bear the hallmarks of The Gemini, a dead serial murderer. It finally takes him to a catatonic patient in a mental institution who has recently begun to talk, pretending to be The Gemini and explaining the killings, but who looks suspiciously like Father Damien Karras.
