An avalanche delays a party of passengers on a train bound for England. Young Iris befriends elderly Miss Froy while stranded in a hotel in a fictional European republic. When the train resumes, Iris passes out and awakens to discover that the old woman has vanished. The other passengers ominously reject Miss Froy’s existence, so Iris starts an investigation with another tourist, and passionate sparks fly as the two sleuth.
