Sonny and Duane, high school seniors and best friends, live in a dying Texas city. Sonny is having an affair with the coach’s wife, while Duane is dating a nearby beauty. Both boys are thinking about their careers as graduation approaches. Duane is considering joining the army, while Sonny takes over a small company. Each is trying to find out how to get out of this dead-end town and start a new life somewhere else.
