Overview

The real tale of pianist Wadysaw Szpilman’s hallucinations during the Nazi takeover of Warsaw. Szpilman seeks jobs playing in a café as the city’s Jews are thrown into a ghetto, and when his family is evacuated in 1942, he remains behind, serves as a laborer for a time, and then goes into hiding in the war-torn city’s ruins.
