Dr. Leo Marvin, a self-absorbed doctor, has the mistake of bringing in a new student, Bob Wiley, only before he goes on holiday. Bob, a paragon of neediness and a veritable encyclopedia of phobias, leads Marvin to his family’s country home. Dr. Marvin attempts to persuade him to quit, but everybody likes Bob. Dr. Marvin loses his professional calm as his oblivious patient makes himself at ease, and he will soon be ready for the psychiatric ward.
